Thabiso Matlala, a self-taught female South African designer, founded By Biso M, a fashion design company. The company offers custom-made and “ready-to-wear” clothing in street, urban, and classic fashion to women between the ages of 18 and 38.
The goal of this project was to express a blend of the brand’s streets-style and elegant style. For example the logo is a visual representation of this balance between the two styles, with the curved side and sharp edges on the left-hand side.
The core theme was to draw direct inspiration from the process and tools used in fashion design, this can be seen in the brand guideline with lines on the left sides of the pages that resemble a measuring tape as well as the fabric sample images used to express the colour palettes.

The e-commerce website combines online shopping with a simulation of being in a fashion design studio. This was done to connect the two and for people that would not be able to experience the physical fashion studio, they would be able to experience this simulation through the website as well as an augmented reality experience.
Example: The fitting room would lead to a fitting room page where the customer can log in their measurements for a custom-made piece.

Packaging design
The corset packaging, designed to resemble a dress with a corset, was my submission to the Goldpack student award competition for the ”competitive edge” brief, which showcases a sustainable and innovative approach to fashion packaging.
The packaging is sustainable as it is made using a single sheet of paper, folded using origami techniques to allow the box shape to fold and hold clothing items in place while shipping. This method could also prevent excessive wrinkling on the fabric during shipping.
